San Ramon CA Faves –Neighborhood Markets – Nob Hill Foods

Nob Hill Foods, located in the Marketplace of San Ramon at the corner of Alcosta and Bollinger Canyon, is a lovely place to pick up tonight's meal...whether it's from the deli, or the ingredients for a fine meal including wine and spirits. This market has undergone an amazing transformation within the last year including a merchandising facelift, new convenient collections of associated foods. It's now easy to grab some white wine to go with that cheese; it's right there! They've added a comprehensive selection of gourmet foods which continues to expand, broadened the natural foods section and created a convenient area with the gluten free food offering. With Valentine's Day coming you'll find a seasonal collection on a free-standing island that includes bears, champagne, chocolate, candles, hearts, holiday cookie recipe books, cookie and cake decorating goods...literally something for everyone on your holiday shopping list in one convenient place.

Nob Hill Foods has an expansive offering of grocery, health & beauty, pet supplies, gift items as well as convenience and novelty items to improve your life. So while Nob Hill can be your "go-to" source for everyday shopping, including fresh produce, fresh seafood, certified Black Angus beef, wine & spirits you can also pick up greeting cards or gift wrap (choose from a wide selection on three aisles) decorative candles of all sizes, fire logs (six different kinds!), ceramic heaters, decorative glassware for entertaining and more.

Nob Hill Foods-ABout Say "Cheese" A Guide to Gourmet CheesesI picked up a really informative brochure while in the store today, Say "Cheese", A Guide to Gourmet Cheeses. The brochure was four pages and was published and copyrighted by Raleys and Nob Hill Foods. This informative brochure included information on getting to know your cheeses, wine pairing, tips for elegant entertaining and proper cheese care. Now that's what I call added value. This brochure is free and it was created to help me and my guests better enjoy cheeses. As chef Rachel Ray would say "How good is that?" I also found some recipe cards. As a matter of fact, their web site includes a recipe archive, arranged by theme, category and diet restrictions.

Nob Hill Foods was purchased by Raley's in 1998. Both businesses began as California-based companies in the early- to mid 1930's and the synergy was there. The stated goal of their board of directors is to " provide busy, health-conscientious families with delicious, easy meal ideas at an everyday value". Nob Hill Foods is here to save you money. Weekly specials are available in print and online. You may also sign up for "Table Talk" online and you'll receive an e-mail with special savings, delicious meal ideas and exclusive e-coupons each week.

Raley's and Nob Hill Foods are committed to local community support in throughout Northern California and Nevada. Food For Families is a non-profit program that has raised more than $17 million and donated more than 7 million pounds of dry groceries to food banks in our communities since the program began as a holiday food drive in 1986.
