San Ramon CA Faves - Fitness Centers - San Ramon Super Sport 24-Hour Fitness
Having been a member of several different fitness centers, I can easily detail the reasons why I like San Ramon Super Sport 24 Hour Fitness so much... hours, comprehensive class schedule, quantity and quality of cardio equipment with working audio links, quantity of strength training equipment, cleanliness, large locker rooms and at least one skilled trainer, my trainer Adriana Alvarado. Adriana has worked with me over a period of weeks to isolate my weak links, such as balance, leg strength and core body strength, and improve on them. I can attest to the fact that she pushes me to the limit and forces me to look within myself and take the workout to new heights each session. Looking back, I've made lots of progress in just four short weeks.
This club has it all! Classes, cardio, strength training, water sports. Amenities include basketball court, cardio equipment, free weights, Group X classes, juice bar, kid's club, Pilates Reformer studio, pool, sauna, spa, steam room, tanning, volleyball and whirlpool.
San Ramon Super Sport 24-Hour Fitness is ALWAYS open, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their holiday breaks are short. For example, they closed at 6 pm New Year's Eve and re-opened New Year's Morning at 8 am. Group X classes start early. There's currently a 5 am cycle class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the commuter set. There's a slot of evening classes beginning at 7:30 pm for the late set.
Rush hour for the cardio equipment seems to start weekdays about 4:30 pm and about 9:45 on Saturdays. My definition of rush hour is when I have to wait on cardio equipment. True, I may not always get the exact machine I want in the mornings, but there is generally several available cardio machines. Better yet, the audio links to the eight televisions up front always work (unlike my old club).
